Aviation is the term applied to the science and practice of flying heavy objects through the air. Aviation includes airplanes, helicopters, gliders, auto gyros and others. Aviation is different to other low weight flying techniques such as balloon flying or kite flying, etc.

Operative aviation is grouped into three major categories: military aviation, commercial aviation and general aviation. Military aviation includes all the flights made by the Air Force: strategies, tactics and logistics. Commercial aviation is formed by the regular airlines and charter airlines. General aviation is formed by all other flying forms such as: sporting, private, public, executive, learning and agricultural.

Aviation has been developing since centuries ago, but only during the last few 100 years has aviation been used as a transportation method. Without aviation the world could not possibly be as advanced as it is today. For example; without aviation man could have never made it to space. The countries that today are known to be developed countries would have probably stayed undeveloped.

Technology will continue to make aviation a better, safer and faster method of transportation, who knows maybe someday every single human being on earth, will be able to have their own aviation machine for themselves and fly to wherever they want.
