Emergence of HorizonAirlines

Milt Kuolt an entrepreneur and other major capitalists, found a niche in the airlines industry and in 1981 founded Horizon Airlines. After the Airline Deregulation Act of 1978 many large airplanes could not make some flights anymore in the North West, this is where Kuolt found his niche, to start having smaller airplanes allowed by such act to take passengers all over the North West and to other places in the World. Horizon Airlines began with only thirty six staff members and two leased Fairchild F-27 planes and only had flights to Yakima, Pasco and Seattle.

By 1986 Horizon Airlines had grown so much, that it started getting some attention from larger airline companies. After a few business talks Horizon Airlines was sold to Alaska Airlines and they became partners, this made both airlines form into a well respected airline in many states. Horizon has more than four hundred staff member now and can get to over fifty different destinations around the United States and other countries.

Horizon Airlines counts with a well organized and established web page where you can find all of their information as well as find flights and book them. You can also make use of their special promotions which are always changing.
